TOP-QUALITY MANILA CLIMBING ROPES

Looking for the best climbing ropes in
the game? You found 'em!

During the twentieth century, the strongest men on the planet all came from the same place: York, Pennsylvania. Olympic weightlifters, bodybuilders, and strength athletes of all kinds flocked to York, which became known as "Muscletown, USA" - and it produced champion after champion.

In the old York Gym where they all trained, there was a manila climbing rope attached to one of the heavy beams in the ceiling. The lifters used to always have contests to see who could climb it the fastest and Bob Hoffman couldn't help but notice that the strongest rope climbers were also the strongest guys in the gym. Bob sure didn't think that was any coincidence...

Rope climbing is a very simple exercise; in fact, it is probably the simplest exercise you will come across. Rope climbing has been one of the favorite exercises of combat athletes all over the world for centuries. Many historians agree that rope climbing is one of the earliest forms of gymnastic equipment ever practiced, and ancient ropes have been unearthed from several sites in Ancient Greece.

Even thousands of years ago, they knew that rope climbing was one of the most effective ways to strengthen the entire body and develop "real world" functional strength. Nowadays, however, finding someone who is serious about rope climbing is about as easy as finding hen's teeth.

Part of the reason for this has been that high-quality rope set-ups are few and far between...

But with FHS on the case, finding high-quality ropes will never again be a problem for serious athletes.

This is the place for the highest-quality manila climbing ropes you can find, just like the ones you probably climbed back in gym class in grade school and just like the ones found in many of the turn-of-the-century gyms and gymnastic clubs.

Now you can add rope climbing to your routine and watch your strength levels take off like a rocket. Functionalhandstrength.com proudly reintroduces high-quality manila climbing ropes back into the strength training world.

The Highest Quality Manila
Climbing Ropes You Can Buy

Our climbing ropes are made of superior quality three-strand 1-1/2" diameter pure "Grade A" manila fiber and come complete with specially designed steel eye-hooks on one end, making installation literally a snap.

One thing you definitely do not want to skimp on is the quality of your climbing rope, especially if you're 15 feet in the air. Here's why these ropes won't "let you down."

(Figure 1.) These natural manila fiber ropes absorb perspiration for the best grip and are extremely durable. (L-1 Quick Link carbineer included.) These ropes have been tested to support over 1800 pounds so you can be sure of a safe and secure climbing experience every time.

(Figure 2.) The other end of our ropes comes wrapped in a "polyboot" designed to prevent fraying and unraveling, thus significantly extending the life of your rope under heavy use. This is especially important in team situations.

(Figure 3.) And in case you might be wondering, there are many different ways to train with ropes besides climbing...

Let's say you don't have a place to hang your rope. Due to the unique eye-hook construction, you can attach your rope to a high or low pulley in the gym, allowing you to perform some of the most effective exercises around.

5 Standard Lengths

We currently have five standard manila rope lengths available: 15, 18, 20, 22, and 24 feet.

Our recommendation when selecting your climbing rope length is to have at least 4 feet of "slack" beyond the distance between the attachment point and the floor - this makes it easier to get on and off the rope, as well as for spotters to prevent swinging. Our ropes are measured from the top of the metal fitting to the end of the polyboot.

If you need any other custom length, just let us know - we can do any cut-to-order length that you need for your gym.
